Midnight BoxingThis is a featured page

This is Steve Smith, of the fancy sltstreets.com video/text blog. Bill Streeter, the organzer is my man. I own a restaruant and bar called the Royale, which I am certain people will need to come check out at some point during the visit.

I am hosting a midnight boxing tournament on the 12th, just north of downtown STL. It is something you should not miss. Here are the details:

Hoosierweight Boxing returns to its roots with an in-house show at the
Panda Athletic Club training gym on the near north side, 1619 North
Broadway, on late eve Saturday, August 12 with boxing starting at the
stroke of midnight.

This evening of fistic entertainment will feature several of the
Hoosierweight alums returning to the squared circle for a night of
round-robin midnight sparring, with fighters facing one another in
short order. While these bouts will not feature belt-wearing winners
and losers, the action should feature no small amount of flying
leather, as former combatants and sparring partners work out their
internal anguish in the ring, in a controlled environment.

This in-your-face spectacle will take place in the Panda's
turn-of-the-century training facility and those with the heart and
will to attend should realize that they are entering the belly of the
beast. This is a warm venue on the best of days, and once gloves are
laced and shots are exchanged, it will surely become the hottest venue
in town on August 12. Attendees are advised to pack plenty of water -
and whatever other libations that they'd care to transport.

In addition to the midnight sparring, attendees are invited to attend
the earlier
portion of the evening at 10pm, a live musical concert featuring
Corbeta Corbata, booked by punk godfather Don "Pride of the Southside"
Beasley, who'll be on-hand to sign autographs and, maybe, to give and
take a few blows, himself.

For those clamoring for the old-school, underground-styled
Hoosierweight battles of yore, this night of scientific sparring will
be an overdue treat and a way to support the Panda AC, as it enters a
new era.

Keep your gloves up and chin down,

Panda AC
